Poems from Somewhere Vague – 17 August 2020

Whorls and hic-cups
the jackdaws.

The hidden nest
of magpies.

The storm came in days
bringing rain.

~

Magpies plumped
crown of sunset.

A forever butterfly
goes singing.

Yes, parakeets head south,
pigeons turn to leaves.

The blue crow
tail wagging.

There are trees
the swallows said
before they went.

~~

On her side
the cat sleeps.

The jasmine
a far off stream.

Brick upon brick
of silence.

The geese are grazing in the shade.

Reaching the well
the sun rests.
