Earth and Air

Do you hear the harp,
the blackbird sing,
the willows sigh?

From the Boyne Valley
to the River Prysor,
they set eye.

With tramp of boot,
brothers’ shoulder,
they arrived.

Two soldiers looked,
one to the mud,
the other to the sky,

For the creature,
that held their hand
as they died.

In memory of poets, Francis Ledwidge & Hedd Wynn, both killed in action on 31st July 1917
